Checking answers - further examples

I have today - 26.3.2020, seen a comment from a friend and he confirms using this in his coding of jobs submitted.

The following is what I wrote in July 2012

I have not received any comment or e-mail from anyone. Does it mean that what I have written is clear enough for everyone? I am not sure and therefore I’ll give another example. I hope someone will start commenting so that I can move forward.

Let me give another example:

14X15 = 210

(14) 1+4      =5

(15) 1+5      =6

5x6      = 30

30 is a two digit figure. Therefore we add 3+0 which gives us 3.

Therefore 3 is our check answer.

To check if we have the correct answer for our original calculation:
14X15= 210

We take the answer 210 and we add the digits 2+1+0 = 3

This corresponds to our check number 3. So we have the correct answer.

One more example just in case:

105X 16 = 1680 (The answer 1680: 1+6+8+0 =15. From here 1+5 =6

Check:

(1+0+5) x (1=6)

Ie 6 X7 = 42

4+2 = 6

Our check answer is the same as the original answer. Therefore our answer is correct.

    1. Thank you very much for taking the time to comment.
      Most of what we know is learned from others to which we add a little of our own and share them so that more will be better informed.
